Lake and Gunslingers Show

My sister didn't want to do more dishes than needed, so she bought these colored cups and put names on them. It worked out great, and we had fun making the rainbow too!

After waiting in line for 5 girls to get their hair braided, we spent the afternoon at Lions Park. It took us awhile to find parking. I didn't know that it was right across the street from the rodeo and we were there on opening day! Finally we found a parking lot with signs for park use only. We picked out a nice shady spot and had a wonderful picnic. Then we decided to go canoeing and paddle boating. We spent 2 hours on the water, which is long if you don't peddle and paddle everyday. We all ended up a little pink. Things you don't think about with elevation changes.

Jason, the kids, and I had gone to a Gunslinger Shootout a couple nights before and convinced everyone else they needed to check it out. The first night we went Zach was chosen to be a spokesperson for the Sarsaparilla they were selling. He had to get up take a taste and tell everyone how good it was. He was excited to get a free drink out of it. When we went back with everyone else both my sister and brother got called out. Holly won a free oil change for living in Cheyenne and Devin was going to be hung for his outfit! Yes, you heard me right. They picked him out of the audience and pretended to hang him for looking not very western. He is the one wearing shorts, BYU shirt, ball cap, and tennis shoes. Remember it is Wyoming during Frontier Days, everyone should be dressed like a cowboy. After playing it up for a few minutes they gave him a cowboy hat to fix his look. Jason was bummed because we knew they did this from the first show and he wanted the hat. We then went down to The Wrangler western store to buy boots for the rodeo! My first pair of cowboy boots ever, I was so excited!!

We saw this fire hydrant while walking to the boot store. I guess someone thought it needed some personality!
